This movie is about a thirty-something-old, British woman, Bridget Jones (Renee Zellweger) who is a hopeless-romantic, searching for his Mr. Right. She has two men to choose from. At first, she thought that Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) was the love of her life and the man she is waiting for. Sadly, there was a scene that she went to the place of Daniel, and found out that there was a woman in his comfort room. And the second man is Mark DARCY (Colin Firth), who, by any chance, was her childhood friend. Just when Bridget was falling for Mark, (because he said that “he likes her just as she is” {isn’t that sweet?! aww!}) here comes Natasha (Embeth Davidtz), who is determined to marry Mark.
I liked the movie because it has a lot of things going on. Even if there are many (but not, too many :)) scenes, you will not get confused. The movie flowed very smoothly, for me. It has a lot of humor going on, it is fun to watch and it is in touch with reality. It also shows that even a normal person (considering the fact that Bridget is over-weight, alcoholic etc.) can still be loved. 😛 Many people can relate to her especially the “century” we live in now.
You do not need to look good or impress anybody just to get his/her attention or to fall in love with you so that you will not worry about being single. You need a person that accepts you and loves you just the way you are. (Sadly, I think that that is only present in movies. how sad.)
