The Rising Media

Arise!

Filed under: Conclusion — Rachel @ 2:04 pm

It’s a wrap for now. I shall leave my 3rd quarter with 5 entries. I promise to write more when the last quarter is about to start.

Wow, I did not notice that the third quarter is about to end.

Just like I have said at the previous conclusions of mine, I have learned many things. Media is all around you and will always be. For me, given a chance of being a critic, it is very fun and at the same time, you will learn about things you did not know. Be careful, for media can  blind you. You must not trust media at all times. We should learn how to be a media literate.

The yes yes show!

Filed under: Uncategorized — Rachel @ 1:16 pm

The yes yes show was sung by the most popular Filipino band, Parokya ni Edgar. I liked the song because of Chito and his oh-so-handsome voice.  Nah, not literally.

This song has a very interesting lyrics and music. Everytime I hear it, it always get stuck in my head. I liked the part when Chito and Vinci were fighting over because of who the lead singer should really be.

Most importantly, this song  is very dear to me because I have good memories of it. Isn’t it amazing how one song can truly affect you? 😀

Everyday

What to say, Lord? It's

You who gave me life and I

Can't explain just how

Much You mean to me now

That You have saved me, Lord

I give all that I am to You

That everyday I can

Be a light that shines Your name

Everyday, Lord, I'll

Learn to stand upon Your word

And I pray that I

That I might come to know You more

That You would guide me with every single step I take, that

Everyday I can

Be Your light unto the world

Everyday, it's You I live for

Everyday, I'll follow after You

Everyday, I'll walk with You, my Lord

Everyday, Lord, I'll

Learn to stand upon Your word

And I pray that I

That I might come to know You more

That You would guide me with every single step I take, that

Everyday I can

Be Your light unto the world

Everyday, it's You I live for

Everyday, I'll follow after You

Everyday, I'll walk with You, my Lord

It's You I live for, everyday

It's You I live for, everyday

It's You I live for, everyday

It's You I live for, everyday

Everyday, it's You I live for

Everyday, I'll follow after You

Everyday, I'll walk with You, my Lord

Everyday, it's You I live for

Everyday, I'll follow after You

Everyday, I'll walk with You, my Lord

I first heard this song in our school and I must admit, I liked it after hearing it.
This song basically talks about.. yes, you guessed it right, God. My faith to God is what keeps me holding
on to him.
I really love this song because of the lyrics. I always consider a song beautiful because of its lyrics and
its message.
If it only has a good tune or a good beat, but the lyrics of the song is nonsense, then, I do not consider it a
good song to listen to.
When I hear this song, I have different kinds of emotions bursting. I feel very alive and happy and I can feel that God is
with me and I can feel His love for me. I love praising him. And so, should you.

A Ghost Story

Filed under: Scary! — Rachel @ 11:10 am

To those who doesn’t know this… the summary is:

As the new night nurse at a soon to be abandoned children’s hospital readies the last group of orphans to leave, it becomes increasingly clear that these are not normal children. Something living in the hospital, something the children call the “mechanical girl,” has a terrifying hold over them and will stop at nothing to keep them in the hospital with her forever.  — http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0422272/plotsummary

The two main characters in this story is Amy Nichols (Calista Flockhart) and the little girl who knows Charlotte (the ghost), Maggie (Yasmin Murphy).

What can I say about this movie? It is just simply amazing! The plot has its twist and turns that will just keep you guessing, and that is what I like in a movie, or to be specific, a horror movie. The movie has a scene that is quite too much for me. Why? well, you can see a bone that will just crack, causing a fracture. And the sound effects, wow, they were perfect! I could just imagine my bone/s cracking! I loved the actors! Amy and Maggie really did an awesome job in acting. It really has a touching ending and a sad ending because one has to die. That’s not what I like, but it’s fine. I always learn to just accept it.

+”..they just simply stay where they love..”+

C’mon and search! January 10, 2007

I’m quite sure almost all of the people know this. Google is a search engine. It does the searching for you so all you need to do is type what you want to find out. It does not only search the web, but it also gives you pictures, groups and directory.

Eversince I need to research about something, I always use Google. It is very easy to use and has many sources to pick out. For me, it is very liable because I always finish what I need to research on. For me, I like Google more than Yahoo! and I don’t know why eventhough these two are quite the same in some ways. Some days, they change their logo and add characters or symbols and somehow, I find it quite amusing. hah.

Heroes of today. January 7, 2007

Filed under: Pictures — Rachel @ 5:59 am

I got this photo from national geographic channel’s site.

In the picture, the tallest man in the world (7’9), Bao Xishun, helped in taking out the plastic pieces that the dolphins ate.

As we all know, the word hero is said to have special or out-of-this-world powers and saving innocent lives from the evil antagonists who ruins or plots to destroy the world. But, it is more than that.

Heroes like that do not exist in the real world. Instead, what I define heroes of today are simple. They are just normal people like me, like us. They become heroes because of their good deeds towards for everything or for everyone. They do not need superpowers to be great, they are just courageous and is always their to give out a helping hand. So, why not be one of those simple heroes who will do Great things? Be a hero. 😀

Introduction III

Filed under: Introduction — Rachel @ 4:05 am

A fresh start for a new year!

…and I am back again to share to you, my dear readers (if there are 😛 ) of what I think about on anything related to media. I will not stop being a critic until this project ends. For the past two quarters, I have gained many knowledge on anything related to media.

So now, let me start anew and give my sincerest opinions in every aspect of media and to continue to be a media literate. Please respect everything that I will say, what I think and my opinions in this project.

For this third quarter, I will not be having a theme because I might like something not related to the theme and I will not have a chance to write it here and to express what I feel.

So, sit back, relax and enjoy, for I will try my best not to bore you and to have fun and at the same time, learn new things.

*Be media aware. 🙂
