Alexander. I’ll just give you a quick overview of the movie. Alexander the great is played by Colin Farrell, the young one is played by Connor Paolo, his bestfriend and lover is Hephaestion played by Jared Leto (so handsome! in this movie lang ha?) King Philip (Alxander’s Father) is played by Val Kilmer, Roxane (his wife) played by Rosario Dawson, Alexander’s mother, Angelina Jolie and let us not forget, the old Ptolemy, Sir Anthony Hopkins.
This movie is about his life, lovers, conquests, struggles and the like. Could you imagine,he conquered 90% of the known world at the age of 25! (standing ovation). He lead his armies through victories. Anyway, if you want to know more, Watch it! š
What I liked about the movie were the great performances of the actors and actresses, the costumes, the plot, the setting etc. All of the actors did a superb job in the film and they played their role beautifuly :p. Almost all of them are known faces in filmography. I felt what they supposed to feel, the joy, the sorrow (ouch! aww..), the nervousness (is there such word?) and the excitement, not to mention the anger! their rage! their fury! their.. their. (okay, stop). The costumes were very realistic. The plot, it’s well fixed. I didn’t find anything wrong about it and the setting, too, it was fantastic. š The funny part there was when they reached India, they saw this weird-looking-hairy-little-“humans”. They kept on killing it until they learned that it was impersonating them and is actually a monkey! Hephaestion was the one discovered it! (wuhoo! not only handsome! has brains, too! haha).
What i disliked.. no wait, didn’t understand was their battle against the Persians (The greatest battle of all time). I didn’t get his stratergy, but just a little. š Oh and….. IS HE REALLY A GAY? OR JUST A BISEXUAL? the particular scene in the movie that could answer my question was..
Roxane: (after seeing Hephaestion giving a ring and crying while talking to Alexander[awww!!!! Hephaestion, I’m here! š haha]) Do you love him?
Alexander: There are many kinds of love. …
Their. What do you think?
I’m done!
