Bridget Jones’s Diary July 25, 2006

This movie is about a thirty-something-old, British woman, Bridget Jones (Renee Zellweger) who is a hopeless-romantic, searching for his Mr. Right. She has two men to choose from. At first, she thought that Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) was the love of her life and the man she is waiting for. Sadly, there was a scene that she went to the place of Daniel, and found out that there was a woman in his comfort room. And the second man is Mark DARCY (Colin Firth), who, by any chance, was her childhood friend. Just when Bridget was falling for Mark, (because he said that “he likes her just as she is” {isn’t that sweet?! aww!}) here comes Natasha (Embeth Davidtz), who is determined to marry Mark.

I liked the movie because it has a lot of things going on. Even if there are many (but not, too many :)) scenes, you will not get confused. The movie flowed very smoothly, for me. It has a lot of humor going on, it is fun to watch and it is in touch with reality. It also shows that even a normal person (considering the fact that Bridget is over-weight, alcoholic etc.) can still be loved. 😛 Many people can relate to her especially the “century” we live in now.

You do not need to look good or impress anybody just to get his/her attention or to fall in love with you so that you will not worry about being single. You need a person that accepts you and loves you just the way you are. (Sadly, I think that that is only present in movies. how sad.)

Tyra Show July 19, 2006

It’s the Tyra Banks Show! I really like this talk show. Firstly, because it’s all about US, women, ladies and girls of all ages. She gives pieces of advice to the girls out their. I can see it in her eyes that she is very concerned towards people with problems. I can tell that by the way she talks, it comes from her heart. On the left picture, you can see that she is wiping off her make-up. Why? because some of her guests said that they only look good only when wearing a make-up, but Tyra proved that they’re wrong. (how sweet. aww). She also had a show when she taught all the girls out there how to defend theirselves when in danger. This talkshow is really important to us, girls! Watch it!. Tyra is not only very beautiful on the outside, but on the inside as well. 🙂 God bless her! AMEN? amen! 😀

Alexander July 18, 2006

Alexander. I’ll just give you a quick overview of the movie. Alexander the great is played by Colin Farrell, the young one is played by Connor Paolo, his bestfriend and lover is Hephaestion played by Jared Leto (so handsome! in this movie lang ha?) King Philip (Alxander’s Father) is played by Val Kilmer, Roxane (his wife) played by Rosario Dawson, Alexander’s mother, Angelina Jolie and let us not forget, the old Ptolemy, Sir Anthony Hopkins.

This movie is about his life, lovers, conquests, struggles and the like. Could you imagine,he conquered 90% of the known world at the age of 25! (standing ovation). He lead his armies through victories. Anyway, if you want to know more, Watch it! 🙂

What I liked about the movie were the great performances of the actors and actresses, the costumes, the plot, the setting etc. All of the actors did a superb job in the film and they played their role beautifuly :p. Almost all of them are known faces in filmography. I felt what they supposed to feel, the joy, the sorrow (ouch! aww..), the nervousness (is there such word?) and the excitement, not to mention the anger! their rage! their fury! their.. their. (okay, stop). The costumes were very realistic. The plot, it’s well fixed. I didn’t find anything wrong about it and the setting, too, it was fantastic. 😉 The funny part there was when they reached India, they saw this weird-looking-hairy-little-“humans”. They kept on killing it until they learned that it was impersonating them and is actually a monkey! Hephaestion was the one discovered it! (wuhoo! not only handsome! has brains, too! haha).

What i disliked.. no wait, didn’t understand was their battle against the Persians (The greatest battle of all time). I didn’t get his stratergy, but just a little. 😀 Oh and….. IS HE REALLY A GAY? OR JUST A BISEXUAL? the particular scene in the movie that could answer my question was..

Roxane: (after seeing Hephaestion giving a ring and crying while talking to Alexander[awww!!!! Hephaestion, I’m here! 😉 haha]) Do you love him?

Alexander: There are many kinds of love. …

Their. What do you think?

I’m done!

aquamarine

This movie is about a so-called mermaid getting washed onto the swimming pool near the shore. The movie also tells about friendship, nothing else, but friendship. It is directed by Elizabeth Allen. I decided to write about this because…

I am so sorry to say this but, this is the WORST movie I have ever watched. I did not think that Elizabeth Allen did a wonderful or should I say, did not even bother to exert more effort as a director. Do not be excited or even be in awe to watch the movie because Jojo is in it, she is not gonna sing. (Wooow! it’s jojo!!). Jojo, just sing, I beg you. Please! be considerate! (ha-ha-ha). Or just because there’s a mermaid. Not to mention, THE WORST PART of the movie, the end of the movie. Oh my goodness gracious! A second grade can do that even better! Nah, I’m just exagerating. It’s really that bad. Even miss platon can do that even better! noh miss? The blue screne was really OBVIOUS. It’s just not right! I’m sorry, I really can’t express what I really feel.

My opinion. Do not dare judge it. JOKE! haha

You have to see it for yourself! i have a dvd! wanna borrow? I do not even recommend you to watch it.

Good day, Ms. Jenny Jo Platon! 🙂 and also to my ever-loyal readers! (IF i have. :P)

Today, I will be writing my first-ever entry here in my Media awareness log. Cool 😛

Prepare yourself for something very dreadful… nah.. I’m just kidding! 🙂                        What you will be seeing here are my different opinions, comments and my realizations in anything I wish to write. Of course, it will be all about the media. Nothing else; but the media. Some of you might think that media is B-O-R-I-N-G,I will (try to :p) give you reason/s why you should not hate/dislike it. I will try my very best (naks! ;)) to keep you, my dear readers, laughing/giggling or even smiling all throughout reading my entries. aww..

If you will not like any entries that I will write, I am very sorry. Really, I am. 🙂

*Ciao*
